Since graduating from Central Saint Martins in 2022, Charlie Constantinou has built a brand that places climate awareness at the forefront of his approach, using deadstock nylon to create environmentally adaptable designs. Inspired by the extremity of the natural environment, Constantinou situated his SS25 collection in the Saharan desert, drawing on traditional weaving techniques of the Bedouin tribe to create looks inspired by their landscape.
The opening ombré designs fused light and dark tones, allowing the garments to move seamlessly from day to night. As the show ran on, these earthy desert hues became forest greens and ocean blues, taking us on a journey through an ever-changing landscape. Blending knitwear and nylon, hooded scarfs and sleeveless vests, Constantinou embraces trans-seasonal styling, in anticipation of the way climate will shape our approach to fashion in the future.
Pairing up with jewellery designer, Octi Ransom, models were clad in spiralling silver shells and fossil-like pendants, translating natural motifs into forms of wearable art. Constantinou also collaborated with terrain-conscious footwear brand, Demon, to complete his gorpcore aesthetic.
An oasis of ideas, the desert-based collection left the crowd thirsty for more of Constantinou’s designs.
