Di Petsa: Ready-To-Wear SS25 – HBRPEDIA

Greek designer Dimitra Petsa took inspiration from the myth of the Minotaur for SS25. Encouraging onlookers to look inside themselves and explore themes of desire, loss and love – like in the relationship of Ariadne and Theseus – Petsa’s eponymous brand embraced its darker side.

Rooting the offering in classic Di Petsa themes like female power and sensuality, self-pleasure was also explored, reflected by models who walked with their hands caressing their crotches, necks and thighs as they walked the runway. The use of period blood as a frequent motif drummed up considerations and placed the collection in the context on the cycle of life, creation and womanhood.

Faded summer memories also influenced the showcase, with a new print coined ‘The Tan Line’ popping up across the brand’s signature drapery. Models walked with hands across their eyes to mirror protecting them from the beams of a warm sun, while hands were dusted with sand for good measure.

Rising to prominence on the back of recognisable wet-look gowns, Di Petsa reimagined its staple this season, designing for the male body for the first time in pastel, gradient hues. Debuting some more casual pieces, cotton hoodies and tracksuit sets indicated a shift in the brand’s approach to its aesthetic, using this collection to apply it to new areas fans haven’t seen yet.

Staying true to her identifiable design codes whilst expanding into fresh spaces, Dimitra Petsa is a brand that’s continuing to push forward.
