Dolce And Gabbana: Ready-To-Wear SS25

Madonna, veiled in lace, sat regally in the front row at Dolce and Gabbana where her long-time designer friends dedicated their SS25 show, titled Italian Beauty to her. The designers honed in on a specific Madonna era, offering their witty take on her 1990 Blonde Ambition tour wardrobe. The original costumes were designed by Jean Paul Gaultier but vintage corsets and masculine pinstripes have been part of the Dolce and Gabbana design vocabulary since the beginning.

The models all wore blonde Madonna wigs and descended a deco stair case to a Madonna sound track. It was a retro Hollywood romp, full of pointy bras, satin balconette corset dresses, sheer pencil skirts, vintage corsetry, boudoir furs and beautifully cut masculine trouser suits. Floral wiggle dresses, a ‘Justify My Love’ trench coat and dolly shoes completed the Madonna tribute which played to the brands greatest strengths. For glamour and sexiness done with consummate aplomb, nobody does it better.
